This fanlisting is for the character Ryan Atwood from the television show The O.C., created by Josh Schwartz, which premiered in 2003 and in now in its fourth season. The show began with Ryan stealing a car with his brother, and getting sent to juvie. His lawyer, Sandy Cohen, took him in and eventually Ryan went to live with the Cohens, getting a second chance in life.

The title of this fanlisting is 'The Outsider' because at first, Ryan really is an outsider. He doesn't fit with the scene in Orange County at all, despite how much he tries. Even though he has been accustomed to how he should behave, he still is an outsider to most of the people living there.
